Zee Entertainment filed a New Delhi lawsuit against Reliance-Disney JV seeking $3 million damages for alleged copyright infringement of its music.
The suit claims the joint venture used Zee’s music at least 50 times after licensing agreements expired in 2024 and 2025.
Zee also seeks an injunction to stop further unauthorized use, while Reliance pursues a separate $1 billion arbitration claim in London.
Market reaction saw Zee shares rise 4.36%, Disney up 6.83%, and Reliance down 1.76% after the news.
