Amerisafe Q2 2026 Results
Amerisafe (ticker AMSF) reported its second‑quarter results for the period ended 30 June 2026. Operating earnings were $0.44 per share, down from $0.53 per share a year earlier and below the consensus analyst estimate of $0.52 per share.
The net combined ratio increased to 95.4 % from 91.7 % in the comparable quarter last year. The net loss ratio rose to 62.6 % from 58.6 % year‑over‑year.
Loss and loss‑adjustment expenses grew 18.9 % to $48.3 million. This increase was partially offset by $7.3 million of favorable case‑reserve development for accident years 2023 and earlier.
Net premiums earned rose 11.4 % to $77.3 million, while gross premiums written increased 7.9 % to $86 million. Voluntary premiums on policies written in the quarter were up 5.7 %, reflecting policy and premium retention in the renewal book.
Net income climbed 4.6 % to $14.6 million, or $0.78 per diluted share, helped by $8.1 million of unrealized gains on equity securities.
