AWL Agri Business Limited announced its unaudited financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026 (Q1 FY27). The results were approved by the Board of Directors and filed with both BSE Limited and National Stock Exchange of India Limited.
Financial Performance Highlights
- Consolidated Revenue: Grew 18% YoY to ₹20,048 crore
- Underlying Volume Growth (UVG): 7% YoY
- Operating EBITDA: Increased 34% YoY to ₹693 crore (Operating EBITDA = Normalized EBITDA – Other Income)
- Profit After Tax (PAT): Surged 48% YoY to ₹351 crore
The strong performance was attributed to disciplined execution across businesses, cost management, improving product mix, and contributions from all business segments.
Segment Performance
Food & FMCG Segment:
- Revenue crossed ₹1,700 crore, growing 22% YoY
- Segment EBITDA crossed approximately ₹100 crore
- Rice category emerged as fastest-growing with more than 40% YoY growth
- Core staples including Wheat Flour, Pulses, Besan, Poha showed healthy demand
- Other categories (soya nuggets, sugar, soaps, biryani kit) showed double-digit growth
Edible Oils Segment:
- Delivered 2% YoY volume growth
- Maintained robust profitability despite global edible oil market volatility
- Witnessed temporary channel destocking due to price fluctuations
- Underlying consumer demand remained resilient
- Benefited from improved pricing discipline and premiumization
Industry Essentials Segment:
- Volume grew 13% YoY
- Revenue increased 28% YoY
- Oleochemicals & Specialty Chemicals business (40% of segment revenue) recorded double-digit growth with high single digit EBITDA margins
- Company expanding oleochemicals manufacturing capacity in Southern India
Channel Performance
Distribution Update:
- Direct retail universe expanded by more than 100,000 outlets YoY
- Rural town coverage remained strong at more than 63,000 towns
- Focus on improving distribution productivity and throughput
Alternate Channels (E-commerce, Quick Commerce & Modern Trade):
- Grew 27% YoY
- LTM revenues crossed ₹5,600+ crore
- Quick Commerce grew 56% YoY
Other Channels:
- HoReCa business grew 30% YoY
- Branded Exports volumes doubled during the quarter
Subsidiary Performance
GD Foods (Sauces & Condiments business):
- Revenue growth of 23% YoY
- Growth across both General Trade and Alternate Channels
Omkar Chemicals (specialty chemicals business):
- Double-digit volume growth
- Revenues grew 41% YoY
- Underlying volume growth of 18%
Management Commentary
Mr. Shrikant Kanhere, MD & CEO, stated that the company delivered "strong financial performance with broad-based growth and robust profitability" reflecting execution of their strategy to build a trusted Food FMCG platform. He highlighted Food & FMCG as the primary growth driver and Quick Commerce as an important growth engine.
