Net income for the quarter was $1.5 million, or $0.18 per diluted share, reversing a loss of $0.2 million in the year‑ago quarter. Gross margin expanded to 72.0 % from 70.0 % year‑over‑year, driven by lower customs duties and refunds, partially offset by tighter margins on big‑box retail sales. Jeff Toghraie, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, said the results reflected execution of the company’s growth plan, citing strategic investments across distribution, product innovation and operational infrastructure.
Retail expansion continued, with the Walmart partnership now covering approximately 1,250 store locations and entry into Sportsman’s Warehouse across roughly 70 locations. AXIL estimates its total store count has grown to about 6,000 locations, up from approximately 1,800 at the end of the prior fiscal year.
The balance sheet showed cash of $4.5 million at quarter‑end and no outstanding borrowings. The company also received approximately $910,000 in customs duty refunds after year‑end, which will be recorded in fiscal 2027.
