Union Minister of Communications Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia chaired the Strategic Review and Planning Meet at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, to review Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited's (BSNL) first quarter financial results for FY 2026-27. The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Communications Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, Secretary (Telecommunications) Shri Amit Agarwal, senior DoT officials, CMD BSNL Shri A. Robert J. Ravi, BSNL Board members, and Chief General Managers from across all 28 circles.
BSNL reported strong provisional financial performance for Q1 FY 2026-27, with operating revenue (Revenue from Services) showing double-digit year-on-year growth of approximately 10% compared to Q1 of the previous year. This revenue represents purely business operations income, excluding other income sources. The company's three core business verticals drove this growth: Enterprise Business led with an impressive 19% year-on-year growth, with outstanding performances from Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Assam Circles. Consumer Mobility business delivered 8% year-on-year revenue growth, exceeding targets in Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and Uttarakhand Circles. Consumer Fixed Access business maintained stable revenues with marginal positive subscriber growth, showing strong performances in Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh (West), and Karnataka Circles.
The review placed equal emphasis on operational performance and Quality of Service (QoS) improvements, focusing extensively on key performance indicators including network availability, customer experience enhancement, and consistent service delivery nationwide. Six Circle Heads from Punjab, Haryana, Kerala, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, and Odisha were recognized for delivering exceptional Q1 results, with each CGM sharing initiatives and best practices to enable knowledge replication across the organization. Minister Scindia highlighted that this knowledge-sharing approach would help create a culture of excellence and collaborative learning within BSNL.
BSNL's Q1 performance has provided a strong foundation for the year ahead, with the objective to sustain growth momentum while delivering measurable improvements in operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. The company aims to accelerate its transformation journey and strengthen its position as India's trusted telecom service provider.
