Coles Group FY 2025‑26 Results
Coles Group (ASX:COL) announced that underlying net profit for the fiscal year ended June 2026 increased 14% to A$1.26 billion, up from A$1.10 billion in the prior year. Group earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) excluding significant items rose 9.9% to A$2.322 billion. Total sales revenue grew 2.8% to A$45.58 billion.
Supermarket operations remained the primary growth driver, with supermarket sales climbing 3.7% to A$41.47 billion. The supermarket EBIT margin expanded by 43 basis points to 5.7%, and e‑commerce sales surged 26.4% to A$5.6 billion. For the first eight weeks of FY27, sales growth was broadly consistent with the fourth quarter of FY26, and e‑commerce penetration reached 15.7%.
The liquor segment continued to underperform, recording a 3.3% decline in sales and a 47.8% fall in EBIT to A$59 million.
Coles outlined a multi‑year program aimed at integrating food and drink offerings, optimizing its store network, and simplifying operations. As part of this programme, the company will invest approximately A$190 million to establish a new capability centre, with an objective of delivering more than A$100 million of annualised benefits by FY29.
