Performance Analysis

The year-on-year decline in financial performance was primarily attributed to the transitional phase in the State Government, including changes in state leadership and delays in allocation of cabinet portfolios. This resulted in delayed payments and limited new tender announcements, impacting execution momentum.

However, the company showed sequential improvement with operating revenues increasing 6.06% quarter-on-quarter from ₹553.12 million in Q4FY26 to ₹586.64 million in Q1FY27. EBITDA rose 22.73% from ₹125.73 million to ₹154.31 million, and PAT increased 22.59% from ₹91.10 million to ₹111.68 million.

Order Book and New Projects

The company reported a confirmed order book of ₹8,508.96 million (including new orders) as of July 31, 2026. In July 2026, Denta Water secured new orders worth ₹655.66 million (including GST), comprising:

  • ₹208.92 million order from Karnataka Neeravari Nigam Limited (KNNL) for turnkey irrigation infrastructure project involving improvement of pickup canals, lift irrigation systems and associated infrastructure under the KMERC Grant in Ballari district, Karnataka, including five years of operation and maintenance
  • ₹446.74 million subcontract from JNS Infra Projects Private Limited for restoration and improvement of lift irrigation infrastructure, including pickup canals and MS pipeline works under the Jalibenchi Lift Irrigation Scheme in Ballari district

Both projects are scheduled for completion within 11 months, providing healthy execution visibility.

Management Commentary

Mr. C. Mruthyunjaya Swamy, Chairman of Denta Water, stated that the first quarter witnessed temporary moderation due to the transitional phase in the state government, leading to slower decision-making, delays in project approvals and payments, limited tender activity and slower project execution.

He expressed confidence that government decision-making and project approvals are expected to normalize, anticipating execution momentum to strengthen in coming quarters. The company remains well positioned to capture emerging opportunities in water infrastructure sector with its healthy order book, strong engineering and execution capabilities, and robust balance sheet.

Business Outlook

Denta Water continues to pursue opportunities across irrigation, drinking water supply, wastewater management and groundwater recharge projects. The company expects improved tendering activity as administrative processes normalize and remains positioned to participate in India's growing investment in water infrastructure.
