EDPR H1 2026 Recurring Net Profit €183 Million, 15% Above Consensus
EDP Renovaveis SA (EDPR) announced a recurring net profit of €183 million for the first half of 2026, surpassing the company‑compiled consensus estimate of €160 million by roughly 15%. The earnings release was followed by a 1.4% decline in the company’s share price.
EBITDA for the period increased by 8% year‑on‑year to €1.03 billion, a figure that incorporates €66 million of gains attributed to asset rotation. The EBITDA growth was primarily driven by an expansion of the installed capacity base.
During the twelve months ending the reporting date, EDPR added 1.8 gigawatts of new renewable capacity while divesting 0.9 gigawatts, resulting in a net capacity increase of approximately 1 gigawatt on a year‑over‑year basis.
Net debt was reported at €8.7 billion at the end of the first half. Analysts estimate that the recently announced disposal of assets in the United States, together with potential further divestments, could lower net debt to about €8.2 billion by the end of the fiscal year.
