Maersk raises 2026 profit outlook on strong container demand
A.P. Moller‑Maersk A/S announced on 29 June 2026 that it has upgraded its full‑year 2026 financial guidance. The company now expects underlying EBITDA of between $8 billion and $10 billion, compared with the prior range of $4.5 billion to $7 billion. Underlying EBIT is projected at $2 billion to $4 billion, replacing the earlier guidance of a loss of $1.5 billion to a profit of $1 billion. Free cash flow is anticipated to be at least a negative $1.5 billion, an improvement from the earlier expectation of at least negative $3 billion. The outlook revision is attributed to particularly strong demand in the Far East and a sustained rise in spot market rates. Maersk also lifted its forecast for global container volume growth in 2026 to about 4 percent, up from the previous estimate of 2 percent to 4 percent. The company will release its full second‑quarter interim results on 13 August 2026.
