Nissan Motor Co now expects FY2026 operating profit of ¥50 billion, reversing a prior ¥60 billion loss forecast.
Shares surged up to 6.5% to ¥373.7, closing 4% higher at ¥364.9 after the profit outlook upgrade.
The outlook improvement stems from a one‑off U.S. emissions rule change, ongoing cost cuts and favorable foreign‑exchange effects.
Nissan raised revenue guidance to ¥12 trillion and expects net loss to narrow to ¥550 billion, with automotive cash flow turning positive H2.
