Rottneros Q2 Loss Narrows to SEK11 M
Rottneros reported a net loss of SEK 11 million for the second quarter, equivalent to SEK 0.04 per share, which is narrower than the loss in the comparable prior‑year period that included a substantial impairment charge. Net turnover declined 16 % year‑over‑year, driven by lower market prices for NBSK pulp and reduced delivery volumes, with sales constrained by lower finished‑goods inventories. EBITDA turned positive at SEK 31 million, reflecting improved margins primarily from lower variable and fixed costs, including a decline in pulpwood prices and cost adjustments implemented in 2025. The company said demand in its prioritized sulphate pulp niches remained stable and solid, supporting production and sales. Looking ahead, Rottneros expects full‑year capital investments of approximately SEK 60 million, sharply below the SEK 166 million budgeted for 2025, and reiterates its focus on cost efficiency, production availability and cash‑flow generation. It also noted continued overcapacity and competitive pressure in the European pulp market.
