SBI General Insurance Company Limited released its Q1 FY27 financial statements, becoming the first Indian general insurer to report under the newly adopted Ind AS framework. Gross Direct Premium Income (GDPI) for the quarter was INR 3,506 crore, marking a year‑on‑year increase of 10.9% compared with the same period last year. Comprehensive income rose to INR 573 crore, reflecting a 17.4% YoY growth, while profit after tax (PAT) stood at INR 426 crore. The insurer posted a solvency ratio of 2.0 times and a Combined Operating Ratio (COR) of 96.18%, indicating a robust capital position and operational efficiency.

Premium growth was broad‑based across key lines: Health premiums surged 49.9%, Personal Accident (PA) grew 26.3%, Engineering premiums expanded dramatically by 95.4%, and Marine‑Cargo premiums increased 16.8% during the quarter.
