Skillsoft Q2 FY2027 Results and Outlook
Skillsoft Corp. (NYSE:SKIL) posted second‑quarter fiscal 2027 results that beat earnings expectations but fell short on revenue, prompting a 9% after‑hours share decline following a 4.5% drop during regular trading on Wednesday.
The AI‑native skills management platform reported adjusted earnings per share of $1.17, surpassing the analyst consensus of $1.03 by $0.14. Revenue for the quarter was $98.2 million, a 3% year‑over‑year decline from $101.2 million in the comparable prior‑year period, and well below the consensus estimate of $125.4 million.
The company announced that its full‑year fiscal 2027 revenue guidance has been revised to a range of $380 million to $390 million, down from the previous outlook of $388 million to $406 million. The midpoint of $385 million is below the analyst consensus of $398 million. Skillsoft retained its adjusted EBITDA guidance of $108 million to $116 million and its free cash flow guidance of $14 million to $22 million for the fiscal year.
Adjusted EBITDA for the quarter was $33 million, representing a 34% margin, compared with $31 million and a 31% margin in the prior year. Net loss from continuing operations improved 17% to $15.0 million, or $1.67 per share, versus a net loss of $18.0 million, or $2.10 per share, in the prior year.
The company completed the sale of its Global Knowledge business in July 2026, positioning itself as a simpler, more focused enterprise centered on its core AI‑native platform. Executive Chair and CEO Ron Hovsepian said the divestiture allows the firm to concentrate on its core enterprise opportunity. Chief Financial Officer Ron Kisling noted that the enterprise segment performed as planned while pressure in the consumer business drove the revised revenue outlook.
