Waste Connections Q2 2026 Results Overview
Waste Connections Inc. (TSX/NYSE:WCN) announced second‑quarter 2026 results that surpassed analyst expectations and prompted an upward revision of its full‑year guidance. Adjusted EBITDA reached $840.1 million, up 6.8% year‑over‑year, and the adjusted EBITDA margin expanded to 32.8%, reflecting a 70‑basis‑point underlying margin improvement despite cost pressures from rising fuel expenses and lower commodity values. Net income was $296.4 million, or $1.17 per share, compared with $290.3 million, or $1.12 per share, in the comparable period last year.
The firm raised its full‑year 2026 revenue outlook to a range of $10.02 billion to $10.05 billion, with the midpoint of $10.035 billion exceeding the analyst consensus of $9.99 billion. Adjusted EBITDA guidance was also increased to a range of $3.33 billion to $3.34 billion.
During the first half of the year, Waste Connections completed acquisitions that added over $100 million of annualized revenue and executed record share repurchases totaling $614.5 million, representing approximately 1.5% of its outstanding shares. The company’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Ronald J. Mittelstaedt, highlighted that the results were driven primarily by strong operational execution and noted the margin expansion despite cost pressures.
