ACC Battery PLI Scheme Awards 40 GWh to Four Firms

The Ministry of Heavy Industries reported that 40 GWh of the 50 GWh targeted Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC) battery manufacturing capacity under the PLI scheme has been awarded to four beneficiary firms.
Only 1 GWh of the total 40 GWh awarded capacity has been installed to date, with Ola Cell Technologies Pvt. Ltd. accounting for the entire 1 GWh of installed capacity.
The scheme, with a total outlay of ₹18,100 crore, aims to reduce import dependence, though domestic demand is currently met largely through imports.
