The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, New Delhi, has been awarded the 'Rajbhasha Utkrishtata Sammaan' for the year 2025-26 by the Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs. This recognition was given for outstanding work and continuous excellent performance in the implementation of the Official Language policy.
The award was conferred by Union Home Minister Amit Shah to Secretary Nivedita Shukla Verma during the 6th All India Official Language Conference held at the CIDCO Exhibition Centre in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, on September 14, 2026, coinciding with Hindi Diwas celebrations.
Notably, the department had previously received the Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar (First prize) for two consecutive years—2023-24 and 2024-25. According to standard rules, ministries or departments that receive the first prize for two consecutive years are typically not awarded the Puraskar in the subsequent year. However, due to the department's consistently outstanding performance in official language implementation over several years, it was granted this special recognition—the Rajbhasha Utkrishtata Sammaan—to acknowledge its continuous excellence. The department secured first position again this year for its excellent performance in official language implementation.
