Meeting chaired by Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah regarding border areas in Tripura
Meeting held in Salbagan, Tripura with attendance from Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tripura, Chief Secretary, DGP, and other senior officers
District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police of all 8 border districts of Tripura attended the meeting
Focus on enhanced and comprehensive border management with greater coordination of State Government machinery
Ministry of Home Affairs' CCTV model to be implemented in Tripura first
Every camera of the BSF to be upgraded and connected with the district administration
Camps to be organized to train people living along the border to tackle threats of narcotics and arms
Presence of Patwaris, local police and BSF personnel to be ensured in training camps
Frequent operations to be conducted against drug and arms trafficking
Entire chain of contributors to drug trafficking to be dealt with ruthless approach
Collectors and GST officials to be trained for financial discipline in border districts
Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) to conduct survey on fake currency
Examination of land records of the last five years to be conducted
Sharp vigilance on financial transactions along the borders, big constructions, and sale/purchase of properties
