Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 944 development projects worth ₹5,755 crore covering 15 districts of Rajasthan during an event in Chittorgarh. The projects represent significant infrastructure investment in the state.
During the same event, Shah unveiled a 21-foot-tall statue of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, installed at a cost of over ₹1.5 crore, on Vajpayee's death anniversary. Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and other dignitaries were present at the occasion.
The speech highlighted several development achievements, particularly in tribal welfare. The budget for Scheduled Tribe (ST) component was increased from ₹25,000 crore to ₹1,25,000 crore. In water infrastructure, while previous administrations provided water connections to 11 lakh households over 70 years, the current government has provided connections to 64 lakh households in Rajasthan under the 'Har Ghar Nal Se Jal' scheme.
Other notable achievements mentioned include the 'Rising Rajasthan' event that attracted investments worth ₹35 lakh crore, creation of 36 new policies, provision of 1,78,000 jobs through job fairs, and gas cylinder subsidies totaling ₹1,128 crore with cylinders supplied for less than ₹450. The state government has also extended the Pradhan Mantri-Mukhyamantri Ayush Arogya Yojana to 45 lakh people and launched the 'Lado Protsahan Yojana' and a greening campaign for the state.
