Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh announced an ANRF-supported digital portal aimed at facilitating training in patent filing support and research paper writing assistance for researchers, students and innovators across the country
The portal will serve as a capacity-building resource providing structured support in scientific writing, publication processes, intellectual property protection and patent-related procedures
The announcement was made during a Joint Review Meeting of Department of Science & Technology (DST), Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) and Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES)
The meeting reviewed progress on key scientific initiatives, institutional coordination mechanisms, science administration reforms, outreach activities and preparations for upcoming national science programmes
Attendees included Principal Scientific Adviser Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood; Secretary, DBT Dr. Rajesh S. Gokhale; CEO of ANRF Dr. Shivkumar Kalyanaraman; and senior officials from DST, DBT, DSIR and MoES
The Minister emphasized the need for greater coordination among scientific departments and institutions, directing establishment of structured mechanisms for sharing information on major projects, technological achievements and institutional capabilities
Dr. Singh suggested that every review mechanism should include presentations on notable scientific achievements from laboratories and institutions on a rotational basis
The Minister called for a more coordinated outreach strategy across scientific departments utilizing digital platforms, social media and emerging communication tools
The Capacity Building for Science Administration initiative was reviewed, with emphasis on expanding programs and integrating them with Mission Karmayogi to strengthen scientific administration
Departmental performance indicators relating to file disposal, grievance redressal, litigation management and expenditure were reviewed
Preparations for ESTIC 2026 were reviewed, with emphasis on wider participation of scientific institutions, startups, industry representatives, students and young innovators
The meeting concluded with commitment to deepen cooperation among scientific departments, strengthen institutional capacities and enhance visibility of scientific research
