The 11th Ayurveda Day celebrations organized by the Ministry of AYUSH witnessed massive public participation both domestically and internationally on September 23, 2026. Under the theme 'Ayurveda for a Healthier Tomorrow', the event recorded extensive engagement through the official Ayurveda Day digital platform (ayurvedaday.org.in), which served as the central mechanism for activity reporting and participant registration.
Nationwide participation metrics showed 13,10,690 registered participants across India, with 1,32,47,311 citizens extending support for Ayurveda through the digital platform. The celebrations generated over 22,000 reported activities and more than 90,000 images documenting public participation. Indian states demonstrating particularly strong engagement included Maharashtra, Odisha, and Uttar Pradesh, where activities were organized across communities and institutions.
The event achieved significant global reach with participation reported from more than 38 countries worldwide. International participants included the United Kingdom, United States of America, China, Japan, Finland, Afghanistan, Ghana, New Zealand, Russia, Georgia, and Albania, among others. This international involvement highlights the expanding global outreach of Ayurveda Day and growing worldwide engagement with Ayurveda awareness and wellness initiatives.
The celebrations featured diverse activities including Ayurveda awareness programmes, health and wellness camps, public outreach initiatives, educational programmes, medicinal plant plantation and conservation drives, promotion of Ayurveda Ahara and healthy dietary practices, and various citizen engagement campaigns. The scale of participation reflects increasing public engagement with Ayurveda and collective efforts by institutions, organizations, and citizens to advance awareness of traditional Indian medicine systems for public health improvement.
