The Ministry of Ayush has launched the Yoga Park Portal as part of its initiative to transform existing public parks across India into community wellness hubs. The portal was unveiled by Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ayush and Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Shri Prataprao Jadhav, during the 25-day countdown event for International Day of Yoga 2026 held at Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh.

The initiative aims to reimagine parks as community wellness hubs rather than merely recreational spaces, encouraging regular yoga practice, meditation, preventive healthcare, and community engagement. The portal enables Panchayati Raj Institutions, Urban Local Bodies, Resident Welfare Associations, non-governmental organisations, corporate entities, and other institutions to participate in developing existing parks into Yoga Parks equipped with dedicated yoga platforms, meditation zones, green landscapes, awareness facilities, and open spaces for group sessions.

A key feature is the collaborative implementation model that encourages participation through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), allowing companies to contribute to wellness infrastructure development while receiving appropriate recognition for their social well-being contributions. The initiative aligns with the International Day of Yoga 2026 theme "Yoga for Healthy Ageing" and seeks to create permanent community assets that extend beyond annual yoga day events, serving citizens throughout the year with accessible spaces for daily yoga practice and community wellness programs.

The Yoga Park Portal provides stakeholders with access to guidelines, concept notes, registration mechanisms, and resources required to join the initiative, creating a digital framework for nationwide participation in developing sustainable wellness infrastructure across both rural and urban India.
