Bank Negara Malaysia kept its policy repo rate unchanged at 2.75% on Thursday.
All 28 economists surveyed by LSEG had correctly anticipated the rate hold.
The central bank has cut rates only once this cycle, in July.
Malaysia's economy remains relatively insulated from the Middle East crisis.
