The Ministry of Commerce & Industry has received 87 proposals from various State and UT governments under the Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojana (BHAVYA) Scheme during the first round of Phase-I. The application window remained open until July 31, 2026, with no proposals received from the state of West Bengal.
Proposal Distribution
The state-wise breakdown shows Maharashtra submitted the highest number of proposals (14), followed by Madhya Pradesh (11), Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh (7 each), Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat (6 each), Telangana (4), Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan (4 each), with multiple states submitting 2 proposals each including Assam, Bihar, Jammu & Kashmir, Odisha, Punjab, and Tripura. Single proposals were received from Haryana, Kerala, Ladakh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, and Uttarakhand.
Evaluation Process
The received applications will undergo evaluation and scoring based on prescribed eligibility and evaluation criteria as per the Scheme guidelines. Project selection follows a Challenge mode methodology with evaluation parameters including connectivity and site suitability, quality of core infrastructure, value-added and social infrastructure in Detailed Project Reports (DPR), industrial ecosystem development, and policy enablers. The guidelines specify that the selection process for the first phase will be completed within one year from the date of scheme notification.
