Phase I Houselisting Census field operations commence April 16 in 8 States/UTs including Karnataka, Odisha for 30-day period.
Digital Self-Enumeration facility used by 12 lakh households nationwide, with new states starting enrollment from April 16.
Census collects housing condition data through 33 questions under Census Act 1948 for statistical purposes only.
Bihar Self-Enumeration period starts April 17 followed by field operations from May 2 to May 31.
