The Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals (DCPC), Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, is preparing for Special Campaign 6.0 scheduled from October 2 to 31, 2026, with a focus on e-waste disposal, cleanliness, and workplace efficiency. The campaign will emphasize identification and disposal of e-waste in accordance with the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022, along with office space optimization, scrap disposal, record management, and workplace environment improvement. This year's theme is 'Effective Collection, Segregation and Disposal of e-waste'.
During the previous Special Campaign 5.0 conducted in October 2025, the Department achieved significant results including scrap disposal generating revenue of ₹9.18 lakh and freeing 7,156 square feet of office space through space audit measures. The record management exercise involved reviewing 4,792 physical files with 237 files weeded out, and reviewing 1,275 e-files with 170 e-files closed. The Department resolved all six public grievances received during the campaign and monitored nine Parliamentary Assurances.
The Department's Public Sector Undertakings and autonomous institutions actively participated in the campaign, including Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET), Institute of Pesticide Formulation Technology (IPFT), Hindustan Organic Chemicals Limited (HOCL), and HIL. Collectively, 93 cleanliness activities were undertaken covering removal of redundant materials, space optimization, and other efficiency measures.
Special Campaign 6.0 will build upon these achievements with broader focus areas including identification of locations for sustained cleanliness activities, space management and office beautification, disposal of scrap and redundant items according to General Financial Rules, review of pending references from Members of Parliament, PMO, State Governments and Inter-Ministerial Cabinet Notes, monitoring of Parliamentary Assurances pending for more than three months, time-bound disposal of pending public grievances through CPGRAMS and other sources, review and simplification of rules for administrative efficiency, and strengthening of record management through file review and weeding.
The Department continues to align its administrative practices with the Government's objective of clean, efficient, transparent, and responsive governance, promoting optimal resource utilization and improved citizen-centric service delivery.
