The Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying (DAHD), Government of India, will launch the Livestock Insurance Portal on September 28, 2026, in New Delhi. The portal will be inaugurated by Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh, Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying and Panchayati Raj.
This digital platform represents a significant milestone in the transformation of livestock insurance services, providing a single integrated system for policy issuance, claim processing, monitoring, and reporting specifically for animals insured under the Livestock Insurance Scheme. The portal will be available in 11 regional languages in addition to Hindi and English, ensuring wider accessibility and ease of use for livestock farmers across different linguistic regions.
The initiative aims to make livestock insurance services more transparent, efficient, accessible, and technology-driven while strengthening risk protection for livestock farmers and supporting the sustainability of their livelihoods. The portal will facilitate better coordination, real-time monitoring, and data-driven management of livestock insurance programs, contributing to improved service delivery nationwide. This launch marks a significant step toward simplifying insurance processes, enhancing institutional efficiency, and bringing inclusive, technology-enabled services closer to livestock farmers.
