The Defence Accounts Department organized a nationwide Shramdaan (voluntary labor) activity under the 'Swachhata Hi Seva 2026' campaign, with field offices across the country participating in a two-week-long Swachhata Pakhwada (cleanliness fortnight). As part of this initiative, the department planted over 25,000 trees under the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' (One Tree in Mother's Name) program. The campaign concluded with a cleanliness drive at MCD Primary School in Bagdola, Dwarka, New Delhi, which was led by Controller General of Defence Accounts Smt Alka Nangia Arora in association with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. Officers and staff of the CGDA office along with MCD officials participated in this drive, which also included sapling plantation activities.

Under Special Swachhata Campaign 6.0, the CGDA Headquarters undertook a tree plantation drive on October 12, 2026. The Department also initiated exercises to identify physical files for weeding out, e-files for closure, and scrap and e-waste for disposal. These nationwide initiatives reaffirm the Defence Accounts Department's commitment to cleanliness, environmental conservation, responsible waste management, and the principles of 'Reduce, Reuse and Recycle' through collective participation and Jan Bhagidari (public participation).
