Defence Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh will undertake an official visit to Cyprus and Greece from October 12 to 15, 2026, with maritime security and defence industrial cooperation as prominent themes during discussions with both countries. During his visit to Cyprus on October 12-13, the Defence Secretary is scheduled to meet his counterparts in the Cypriot Ministry of Defence and call on the Cypriot leadership. This visit follows the President of Cyprus's visit to India in May 2026, which has given further momentum to the India-Cyprus Strategic Partnership. The visit is expected to underscore the shared commitment to deepening and expanding bilateral engagement, particularly in the maritime domain.

In the second leg of his visit, Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh will interact with the senior defence and military leadership of Greece. This engagement continues the growing India-Greece partnership in defence and strategic domains, following the Greek Minister of National Defence's visit to India in February 2026 where he held talks with Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh.

The visit assumes added significance as India seeks to further strengthen its defence and strategic cooperation with partners in the European Union, following the signing of the landmark India-EU Security and Defence Partnership. The visit represents continued high-level diplomatic engagement to enhance India's defence relationships within the European region.
