The Department of Justice successfully concluded its Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2026, which ran from September 17 to October 2, 2026, under the theme 'Swachhata Mein Sahbhag, Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat'. The campaign began with Secretary Shri Niraj Verma administering the Swachhata Pledge to all officers and staff on September 17.
Officials participated in shramdaan activities and focused on maintaining hygiene and enhancing office ambience, including cleaning sections, common areas, staircases, wall stones, and tiles. Additional efforts included painting indoor plant pots, servicing or replacing loose wires, unserviceable water taps, broken furniture items, and computer equipment. The campaign emphasized deep cleaning of typically overlooked areas such as rooftops, roof water tanks, and washing/replacing office room curtains.
Sports events including Swachhata-Run and Dart Board Game were organized on September 25, 2026, under the 'Sports for Swachhata' initiative. On October 1, 2026, the Hon'ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Law and Justice led the campaign activities, beginning with a floral tribute to Dr. B. R. Ambedkar in the front lawns of Jaisalmer House. The Minister led the 'Ek Din Ek Ghanta Ek Saath' drive with participation from all officers and staff, and tree plantation under 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' was conducted to emphasize environmental improvement efforts.
The campaign concluded with the distribution of Swachhata Samman by the Minister to Safai Mitras of the Department, and awards were given to winners of the Swachhata sports events. As part of Swachhata Diwas, Safai Mitras received Swachhata Kits containing sanitizer, gloves, hand-towels, t-shirts, and caps. The Minister commended the Department's efforts and the active participation of officers and staff in the campaign.
