The Department of Justice, Ministry of Law & Justice has launched the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2026, a fortnight-long cleanliness initiative running from September 17 to October 2, 2026, under the theme 'Swachhta Mein Sahbhag, Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat'. The campaign includes four key focus areas: Cleanliness Target Units involving shramdaan activities at Jaisalmer House, New Delhi; Jan Bhagidari for general daily cleanliness and a tree plantation drive under 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam'; Swachhata Se Samriddhi through auction of unserviceable items to free up space; and Safai Mitra Suraksha Evam Samman Shivir providing swachhata kits and incentives to housekeeping staff.

The department will participate in the nationwide one-hour shramdaan event 'Ek Din, Ek Ghanta Ek Saath' on October 1, 2026, organized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation. Secretary of the Department of Justice administered the Swachhata oath to officials on September 17, 2026, at 10:30 AM. During the campaign period, officers and staff will perform deep cleaning activities at the Jaisalmer House complex, including unclogging sewerage systems, painting plant pots, cleaning staircases, fixing loose wires, cleaning upholstery, pathways, working spaces, and arranging records.
