The Department of Sports, Government of India, has initiated the preparatory phase for Special Campaign 6.0, continuing its focus on cleanliness, administrative streamlining, and scientific e-waste management. The campaign aims for effective collection, segregation, and disposal of e-waste across all departmental facilities. This initiative follows the successful implementation of Special Campaign 5.0, which achieved significant results including the reclamation of 390,000 square feet of space and generation of ₹4,07,55,976 in revenue from scrap disposal. The campaign involves collaboration with subordinate organizations including Sports Authority of India (SAI), Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education (LNIPE), National Sports University (NSU), National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA), and National Dope Testing Laboratory (NDTL). Cleanliness drives were conducted across 50 identified sites spanning field offices and headquarters of these organizations. The preparatory phase for Special Campaign 6.0 ran from September 15 to September 30, 2026, with the department aiming to establish higher standards in workplace cleanliness and achieve objectives outlined by DARPG (Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances). Senior officers actively oversaw progress at each step, and the department leveraged social media platforms to amplify the campaign's reach and visibility.
