The Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD) is preparing for Special Campaign 6.0, a government-wide initiative running from October 2 to 31, 2026, with a preparatory phase from September 16 to 30, 2026. The campaign focuses on three main objectives: clearing pending matters, reclaiming office space through efficient record management, and responsible e-waste disposal through effective collection and segregation.
The campaign is being implemented under the guidance of the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG) and follows the success of Special Campaign 5.0 held in October 2025. During the previous campaign, DEPwD and its organizations achieved significant results including digitization and weeding out of 11,972 physical files/documents, freeing approximately 15,588 square feet of office space, and generating revenue of ₹14,47,619. The department also organized 64 cleanliness campaigns covering both indoor and outdoor spaces across the country.
DEPwD has established an institutional mechanism for the campaign with nominated nodal officers at the department level and across all subordinate offices, attached offices, public sector undertakings, and autonomous bodies under its administrative control. Since November 2025, the department has continued monthly Swachhata and pendency-reduction activities, regularly uploading achievements to the Special Campaign 6.0 Portal (SCDPM) to maintain sustained action beyond the campaign period.
The current campaign aims to institutionalize Swachhata practices while minimizing government office pendency, converting idle records and redundant material into opportunities for greater efficiency, accountability, and productivity in everyday governance.
