The Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare (DESW) is actively participating in the Government of India's nationwide Special Campaign 6.0, which runs from October 2 to October 31, 2026. The campaign aims to institutionalize Swachhata (cleanliness) and reduce pendency in government processes, with a focus on improving workplace efficiency and promoting a cleaner, more sustainable office environment.

DESW and its attached and subordinate offices are undertaking targeted activities including e-waste management with emphasis on collection, scientific segregation, and responsible disposal in accordance with E-Waste (Management) Rules. The initiative promotes the 'Waste to Wealth' concept by encouraging conversion of waste into valuable resources. Comprehensive cleanliness drives and Shramdaan activities are being conducted to improve workplace hygiene, aesthetics, and organization.

The department is systematically reducing pendency by streamlining administrative processes to ensure expeditious disposal of pending references, including grievances and Parliamentary assurances, with the objective of improving service delivery to the ex-servicemen community. DESW is implementing long-term measures to embed Swachhata principles into routine departmental functioning, aiming to transform campaign-based initiatives into sustainable administrative practices.
