The Department of Food and Public Distribution (DFPD), Government of India, is preparing to conduct Special Campaign 6 from October 2 to October 31, 2026. The campaign will focus on institutionalizing Swachhata (cleanliness) and strengthening efforts towards disposal of pending matters, improved record management, effective utilization of office space, e-waste management, and overall cleanliness and beautification of office premises.
This builds upon the department's previous successful campaigns. During Special Campaign 5.0 conducted from October 2 to October 31, 2025, the department achieved significant results: 123,853 files were weeded out, 49,830 square feet of space was freed, and revenue of ₹1.67 crore was generated through these efficiency measures.
The department continued its cleanliness and efficiency efforts beyond the formal campaign period. From November 2025 to August 2026, an additional 72,577 square feet of space was freed through weeding out of old files, auctioning of scrap material, and cleaning of unutilized and abandoned spaces. Disposal of scrap material generated revenue of ₹25.95 lakh during this period. Additionally, 1,493 cleanliness drives were conducted across various offices and locations of DFPD and its organizations from November 2025 to August 2026.
Special Campaign 6 will address pending references, old records, unutilized space, and e-waste disposal as part of the department's ongoing commitment to maintaining a cleaner, more efficient, and well-organized work environment across its offices and organizations.
