The Department of Pension and Pensioners' Welfare (DoPPW), Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, in collaboration with the State Bank of India (SBI), organized a Mega Camp at the NDCC Convention Centre in New Delhi on November 2, 2026. This event was part of the Nationwide Digital Life Certificate (DLC) Campaign 5, which aims to facilitate the submission of Digital Life Certificates through technology-driven, accessible, and pensioner-friendly services.

Secretary of DoPPW, Ms. Nivedita Shukla Verma, emphasized that digital empowerment of pensioners is a crucial component of the Government's commitment to Ease of Living. She highlighted that technological advancements, particularly face authentication, have transformed the life certificate submission process, enabling pensioners to generate Digital Life Certificates independently using smartphones without visiting banks or offices.

The campaign has set an ambitious target of over two crore Digital Life Certificates. SBI's significant contribution was acknowledged, with the bank having facilitated approximately 25 lakh Digital Life Certificates during the previous year's campaign. As part of the current initiative, SBI is conducting special DLC camps across 115 cities and providing assistance through its branches and dedicated support teams. The bank has made special arrangements at branches with substantial pensioner populations to expand digital service coverage.

Joint Secretary of DoPPW, Sh. Dhrubajyoti Sengupta, urged pensioners to utilize the available facilities and encourage fellow pensioners to adopt digital services, contributing to a more accessible, transparent, and citizen-centric pension delivery system.
