The Department of Pension and Pensioners' Welfare (DoPPW) successfully concluded Special Campaign 3, a focused initiative running from July 7 to August 31, 2026, aimed at redressing long-pending pension grievances. During the preparatory phase, ministries and departments identified 1,062 target cases from physical and online sources, plus an additional 2,131 grievances pending for over one month on the CPENGRAMS portal, bringing the total cases taken up to 3,193.
Through coordinated efforts with 40 ministries and departments, including two mid-campaign review meetings and regular status monitoring, the campaign achieved a 72% redressal rate, resolving 2,306 cases. A significant demographic finding was that the majority of resolved cases pertained to pensioners and family pensioners residing in rural areas, demonstrating the campaign's success in bridging the digital divide through online portal usage.
The campaign resulted in the resolution of numerous long-pending cases with substantial financial settlements, including: ₹16.70 lakh in family pension arrears to Ms. Jayalakshmi Karnan effective June 2013; ₹30 lakh in disability pension arrears to Shri Idan Singh effective September 16, 2016; ₹26.12 lakh as war injury element arrears to Sh. Kapur Singh effective January 1, 2006; ₹19 lakh in dual family pension arrears to Ms. Rukmani Nair effective September 24, 2012; ₹18.57 lakh in special family pension arrears with interest plus ₹12.60 lakh in ex gratia arrears with interest to Ms. Saranjit Kaur effective July 28, 2008; ₹6.27 lakh in family pension arrears to Ms. Sunaina Kumari effective March 18, 2022; ₹10.66 lakh in liberalized family pension arrears to Ms. Simarto effective January 1, 1996; ₹37.40 lakh in family pension differential arrears to Ms. Angoori Devi effective January 1, 1996; ₹25.99 lakh in time-barred service pension arrears to Sh.
