The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has formally launched the Implementation Phase of Special Campaign 6 on October 2, 2026, coinciding with Swachh Bharat Diwas, with activities continuing until October 31, 2026. The campaign, nodalized by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), aims to strengthen Swachhata, improve efficiency, promote digital governance, enhance work environment and culture, ensure timely disposal of pending matters, and promote better management of official resources.
The launch event at Grih Kalyan Kendra, Lodhi Road, New Delhi featured Secretary (P) as Chief Guest and included Swachhata Oath administration, cleanliness drive, floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi, tree plantation, and cultural presentations on cleanliness themes, concluding with felicitation of Swachhata Karmayogis.
During the Preparatory Phase from September 16-30, 2026, DoPT conducted detailed assessment of VIP references, Public Grievances, Parliamentary Assurances, and other time-bound action matters across DoPT and its Attached and Subordinate Offices. This enabled identification of priority areas and formulation of targeted interventions for expeditious disposal during the Implementation Phase.
The department has finalized action plans covering cleanliness drives, disposal of pending matters, records management, and freeing up of office space across various locations, with emphasis on creating cleaner, more organized workspaces. A comprehensive review of physical and electronic records, office scrap, and other materials requiring weeding out/disposal was conducted, identifying records for digitization, obsolete documents for weeding out, and opportunities for better office space utilization.
DoPT has uploaded requisite targets for Special Campaign 6 on the SCDPM 6 portal of DARPG for monitoring and review purposes. Special emphasis has been placed on effective collection, segregation, and disposal of e-waste in accordance with the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022, with progress tracking through the Special Campaign 6 Portal.
The campaign aims to institutionalize Swachhata, efficiency, competency-linked capacity building through the iGOT Karmayogi portal, and promote transparency, accountability, and good governance while fostering a cleaner, more productive working environment.
