The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) successfully concluded its Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign, which ran from September 17, 2026, to October 2, 2026. The campaign was conducted under the theme 'Swachhata Mein Sahbhag, Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat' and represented a widespread national movement that actively engaged citizens and mobilized government personnel across all levels of the department.
The initiative involved extensive participation from DoT headquarters, regional offices, field units, and associated public sector undertakings. These entities organized comprehensive cleanliness drives specifically focused on transforming and restoring neglected areas and designated Cleanliness Target Units (CTUs) throughout India.
The campaign culminated on October 2, 2026, observed as Swachh Bharat Diwas, with Union Minister of Communications and Development of North Eastern Region Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia planting a tree sapling as part of the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' initiative. This activity marked the formal conclusion of the cleanliness drive efforts across the telecommunications infrastructure and associated facilities nationwide.
