The Department of Pension and Pensioners' Welfare (DoPPW) will conduct the 17th Pension Adalat under the chairmanship of Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, on October 5, 2026, at T. N. Chaturvedi Memorial Hall, IIPA, New Delhi.
This thematic adalat will address 897 long-pending grievances specifically from super-senior pensioners and family pensioners across 24 Ministries/Departments, all filed through the CPENGRAMS Portal. The Pension Adalat serves as an alternative resolution mechanism for on-the-spot redressal of central government pensioner grievances, operating on a "Whole-of-Government Approach" that brings together all relevant stakeholders to resolve complex cases without expensive court proceedings.
Since its introduction in 2017, the Pension Adalat initiative has demonstrated significant effectiveness with a 71.79% success rate, having resolved 20,676 out of 28,797 grievances on the spot across its previous 16 editions. The remaining cases from previous adalats were subsequently addressed through inter-ministerial review meetings conducted by DoPPW.
The 17th edition will feature hybrid participation, allowing complainants from across the country to join either physically or through video conferencing. During the proceedings, Dr. Jitendra Singh will release flyers highlighting success stories from the 16th Pension Adalat held on May 13, 2026, and a booklet containing Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) on issues concerning family pensioners.
