Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh launched the redeveloped official websites of the Department of Science and Technology (DST) at www.dst.gov.in and www.most.gov.in, developed in accordance with the Digital Brand Identity Manual (DBIM) 3.0 and Guidelines for Indian Government Websites and Apps (GIGW) 3.0. The launch event was attended by Prof. Umesh V. Waghmare, Secretary of DST, along with senior officials and development team representatives.
The redeveloped portals embody Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of citizen-first governance and follow the principle of "Science by the People, Science for the People." The websites serve as a single-window platform providing access to DST schemes, grants, fellowships, scientific programs, and opportunities for students, research fellows, researchers, academic institutions, innovators, startups, entrepreneurs, media professionals, and citizens.
Key features include multilingual access through Bhashini integration supporting 22 languages, universal accessibility tools (adjustable font sizes, high-contrast display, link highlighting, screen-reader compatibility), and responsive design for seamless use across desktops, tablets, and mobile devices. The information architecture covers major sections including About DST, divisions, programs and schemes, services, opportunities, documents, and news and updates.
The platform includes a structured scheme and opportunity finder for discovering research funding, calls for proposals, awards, and application forms, plus a centralized document repository for guidelines, policy documents, notifications, reports, and administrative forms. It also provides dedicated information on bilateral and multilateral science and technology cooperation for international stakeholders.
The redevelopment was undertaken jointly by DST, National Informatics Centre (NIC), project management team, and development agency, with content curated and validated by the department's internal divisions. Security measures include SSL/TLS encryption, cybersecurity assessments, and adherence to CERT-In guidelines, with Content Delivery Network integration for faster loading and system stability during high traffic periods.
This initiative forms part of the Government of India's broader effort to harmonize digital footprint through standardized branding, navigation, and content presentation across government websites, following the launch of DBIM 3.0 by MeitY in March 2025.
