The Department of Science and Technology (DST) conducted a hybrid review meeting to assess preparedness for the Implementation Phase of Special Campaign 6, following the completion of the Preparatory Phase on September 30, 2026. The meeting was chaired by the Joint Secretary (Administration) who serves as the Nodal Officer for the campaign, with participation from DST Headquarters officials, Autonomous Institutions, Survey of India, National Atlas & Thematic Mapping Organisation (NATMO), Technology Innovation Hubs (TIHs), Missions and Laboratories through video conferencing.

The Implementation Phase will run from October 2 to October 31, 2026, with focus on achieving visible outcomes and time-bound implementation. Organizations were directed to intensify cleanliness and Swachhata drives, systematically weed out obsolete records and materials, optimize available office space, strengthen records management, and ensure timely disposal of pending matters to improve workplace efficiency and resource management.

E-waste management emerged as a key priority, with all participating organizations instructed to identify and segregate e-waste generated during the campaign and ensure disposal only through authorized recyclers in compliance with the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022 and applicable guidelines of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC). This initiative aims to promote safe disposal practices, resource recovery, environmental sustainability, and cleaner workplaces.

The campaign also emphasizes public outreach, with organizations encouraged to document and disseminate successful initiatives and replicable best practices through official websites and social media platforms to extend impact beyond individual offices and contribute to wider public awareness. The review meeting concluded with a collective commitment to make Special Campaign 6 more outcome-oriented, measurable, and citizen-centric.
