The Department of Fisheries, under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, successfully completed its participation in Special Campaign 6 conducted from October 2 to October 31, 2026. The campaign was implemented under the guidance of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) with focus on institutionalizing Swachhata (cleanliness), reducing pendency in government offices, improving records management, and promoting efficient utilization of office space and resources.

The Department achieved its target of conducting 40 cleanliness campaigns and made significant progress in grievance redressal, disposing of all 100 public grievances and all 30 public grievance appeals. Additionally, the department disposed of 4 references from Members of Parliament and 3 references from the PMO.

In records management and digitization, the department reviewed 800 physical files and weeded out 745 files, while closing 25 out of 45 e-files put up for review. The campaign resulted in freeing up approximately 1,150 square feet of office space through scrap disposal and included an e-waste management exercise covering 308 items across various categories of electronic and electrical equipment.

The Department leveraged social media with over 120 posts shared across multiple platforms including X, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn, Truth Social, Bluesky, and YouTube to showcase campaign activities and reinforce public awareness of departmental initiatives.
