The Union Government has sanctioned and released over Rs. 592 crores in XV Finance Commission grants to Panchayati Raj Institutions in Goa and Maharashtra.
The grants are divided into untied funds for local needs and tied funds for sanitation, drinking water, and waste management projects.
The funds are allocated for the financial years 2023-24 and 2024-25, with specific amounts released for district, block, and gram panchayats in both states.
