Ministry of Panchayati Raj and Fisheries Scheme Interaction Program
Under the joint aegis of the Union Ministry of Panchayati Raj and the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, a special interaction program with beneficiaries of the 'SVAMITVA' Scheme and Fisheries Scheme was held at the National Dairy Development Board Auditorium in Anand. The event included a property card distribution ceremony under the SVAMITVA scheme, with Union Minister Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh as Chief Guest and Union Minister of State Prof. S. P. Singh Baghel as Special Guest.
SVAMITVA Scheme Implementation and Impact
The Union Minister stated that property-related issues were the biggest cause of violence and disputes in rural areas, and the SVAMITVA Scheme was launched to address this through drone surveys that provide title deeds for land/properties to villagers. Currently, more than 3 crore SVAMITVA cards have been distributed across the country, enabling villagers to obtain loans from banks instead of relying on usurers. The second phase of this scheme across the country, including Gujarat, is in its final stage and is bringing social harmony and economic prosperity to villages.
Fisheries Sector Development
The fisheries sector supports the livelihood of approximately 6 crore people in the country. After 2014, the Central Government implemented historic decisions including the Blue Revolution, PM Matsya Sampada Yojana, and the creation of a separate Ministry of Fisheries. Despite global economic challenges and tariff issues, the sector has advanced through policies for Free Trade Agreements (FTA) and deep-sea fishing.
Program Proceedings and Attendance
During the event, property cards were distributed to rural beneficiaries under the SVAMITVA scheme, and direct interactions were held with beneficiaries of both the fisheries scheme and SVAMITVA card scheme to discuss government scheme benefits. Beneficiaries presented their experiences regarding the benefits received from SVAMITVA scheme and PM Matsya Sampada Yojana. The program was attended by Chairman of the National Dairy Development Board Dr. Meenesh Shah, Joint Secretary of the Panchayati Raj Department Shri Amit Shukla, Director Dharmendra Ji, District Development Officer Ms. Devahuti, officials of the district administration, and scheme beneficiaries.
