The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs organized a meeting on July 19, 2026, under the chairmanship of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh with leaders of political parties to discuss issues relating to the ensuing Monsoon Session of Parliament. The meeting was called by Kiren Rijiju, Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs, and was attended by 58 leaders from 40 political parties including ministers Jagat Prakash Nadda (Leader of the House in Rajya Sabha), Arjun Ram Meghwal, and L. Murugan.
Minister Rijiju informed that the Monsoon Session, 2026 of Parliament will commence on July 20, 2026, and subject to exigencies of Government Business, may conclude on August 13, 2026. The session will provide a total of 19 sittings spread over 25 days. Legislative business for the session had already been published in Bulletin Part-II by both Secretariats of Parliament on July 16, 2026.
Leaders of different political parties expressed their views on various issues likely to be raised during the forthcoming session and assured cooperation to the government. The government expressed readiness to discuss any important issues as permitted under the Rules of Procedure of both Houses.
