Govt Reports Progress on Women's Safety and Empowerment

The National Family Health Survey-5 (2019-21) reports a decline in spousal violence against women to 29.3%, down from 31.2% in the previous survey.
Under Mission Shakti, 926 One Stop Centres have assisted over 13.37 lakh women, and the Women Helpline (181) has aided over 99.09 lakh women.
The government has launched the Mission Shakti Portal and mobile app, and 416 Shakti Sadan relief homes are operational for women in distress.
