Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh held a bilateral meeting with Belgium's Minister of Defence and Foreign Trade Mr. Theo Francken in New Delhi on September 03, 2026. During the interaction, the two sides reviewed the entire spectrum of defence and industrial cooperation between India and Belgium. The ministers agreed to expand bilateral ties through multiple channels including defence cooperation dialogue, high-level visits, training programs, and capacity building initiatives.
Both leaders discussed issues of regional peace and security and acknowledged the need for maritime security collaboration specifically in the Indo-Pacific region. They reiterated that the partnership between India and Belgium is based on shared values of mutual trust and respect. The meeting was conducted on the sidelines of a separate meeting between Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the Prime Minister of Belgium Mr. Bart De Wever in New Delhi.
