The Government of India has declared a one-day state mourning on July 13, 2026 (Monday) throughout India as a mark of respect following the passing of His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, Father Amir of The State of Qatar, who died on July 12, 2026. During the state mourning, the National Flag will be flown at half-mast throughout India on all buildings where the National Flag is flown regularly. Additionally, there will be no official entertainment permitted anywhere in India on the day of mourning. This announcement was made by the Ministry of Home Affairs through the Press Information Bureau on July 12, 2026.
