India Leads BRICS Women's Working Group Preparatory Meeting

India convened the first BRICS Women's Working Group preparatory meeting virtually on April 30, 2026.
Four priority areas were established: women in governance, financial inclusion, entrepreneurship, and climate action.
The discussions will lead to outcomes for July 2026 BRICS Women Ministerial Meeting in Kochi, Kerala.
Meeting included BRICS member countries, Indian government departments, UN Women, and FICCI participation.
