Ministry of Home Affairs releases NCRB data showing 120,010 NDPS Act cases registered across India in 2023.
Kerala recorded highest state cases at 30,697 followed by Punjab at 11,589 and Karnataka at 6,763 in 2023.
Total cases increased from 78,331 in 2021 to 115,236 in 2022 and 120,010 in 2023 across all states and UTs.
NDPS Amendment Act 2014 has been in force across India since May 1, 2014 as per government notification.
